I didn't think it was possible either. But it's like, they can't even find a reason anymore. Obama is doing a good job, the economy looks like it's starting to turn around, and I think it scares the living **** out of the Repigs that the guy is still popular.

They have nothing to stand on so they've just resorted to name calling and tantrum throwing. It's INSANE.

That's how it seems to me lately anyways...

1. They have NO-THING. . So they retreat to the schoolyard.
There isn't a grownup among them.

2. It's about anger that they are out of power
They are trying to regrow the base and keep the faithful fired up. However, their party increasingly has a problem of goal conflict.

On one hand, they have Social Conservatives who want to make this a Christian "Iran" (James Dobson is doing shows all this week on what a wonderful and misunderstood president George W. was)

OTOH, they have an increasingly vocal neo-Libertarian movement. These are folks who aren't particularly interested in the RW social agenda, but want the Federal Government rolled back to pre-Wilsonian levels.

Mostly, despite their trotting out Sarah and the man of Steele, they are still the party of Rush & Newt: the party of unsympathetic, unlovable, angry white guys who really have nothing to be angry about.

5. Their party's de facto leader said he wants Prez Obama to fail.

And by gawd they intend to make it happen no matter what it takes.

... just to please their leader and to stand in his good graces.

7. Who would have thought they could?
I'm waiting for Hannity to call Obama a "poopie head".

8. The New Talking Point -- Newt and others are proclaiming that "Obama is a failure"
This is apparently the lastest craze -- saying that everything Obama has done has failed.

Which of course is total bullshit

9. And yet for all their childish ways
They still get a respectful hearing on every show, every interview, every clip and every report. It's almost like they're playing a game of tantrum chicken: Who will finally, at long last, provoke the kind of sneering dismissal for being just too goddam asinine? At present, that seems to be reserved solely for Al Gore or Michael Moore, even though neither of them are nearly as infantile as our Republican friends. They also have the annoying habit of being correct.

10. Oh, I wouldn't say more childish -- actually, more infantile.
But consider it a facade: meanwhile, lobbyists are influencing blue dog and so-called 'moderate' Dems to do the GOP's job of derailing needed reforms.
