S.C. governor ordered to take stimulus money
COLUMBIA, S.C. - South Carolina's Supreme Court ordered Gov. Mark Sanford on Thursday to request $700 million in federal stimulus money aimed primarily at struggling schools, ending months of wrangling with legislators who accused him of playing politics with people's lives.

The nation's most vocal anti-bailout governor had refused to take the money designated for the state over the next two years, facing down protesters and legislators who passed a budget requiring him to. While other Republican governors had taken issue with requesting money from the $787 billion federal stimulus package, Sanford was the first to defend in court his desire to reject the money.

But he said Thursday he will not appeal the Supreme Court ruling and plans to sign paperwork to request the money Monday.

4. The advantage we have is that he has very little if any national
attraction, and I doubt, no matter what he says or does, won't get any either.

5. I don't think he has a chance in 2012 or ever.
However, you better keep your eye on him and whatever he is doing all the time. You don't want him to ever slip into the "mainstream" in the public's opinion.. Don't underestimate him and his followers ever.

You may think he is nothing but a joke. He is a very bad one, and don't forget GWB got elected. He would make W look reasonable.

You have been warned.

6. The advantage W had was his name. People knew his daddy,
and many thought he wasn't so bad, so they voted for his kid. However there's sure is a lot of buyers remorse now! The other advantage W had was his cowboy "good old boy" attitude and his jokester personality. A lot of people liked that, and even many of his enemies said on a personal basis, he was a nice, personable, and fun guy. The SC Gov. has NON of those attributes!

7. Sanford has also been using expensive lawyers FROM OUT OF STATE...
in order to fight against funds which will help the citizens of South Carolina. And the citizens of SC are picking up the tab for those expensive attorneys working against their interests.
Massa Sanford keeping that SC plantation tradition alive.
