isn't it? Even more, he makes us proud!

President Obama was uniquely qualified to give the speech he gave yesterday. No one else could have done so with the insight that he has. I know the wingnuts are just seething about it. He used his middle name - HUSSEIN. And the fact that it puts sand in their collective craw - that's nice too.

He doesn't get shoes thrown at him. Angela Merkel smiles at him and he treats her with the respect her office deserves. He gets cheers and applause most everywhere he goes. He doesn't get mooned or protested at every stop like *resident Psychopath did.

Aaaahhhh. The oh-so-pleasant feeling of a competent President. Nice.

11. Hold on a minute
First, let's not set the bar too high. He'll be lucky if he can bring reason to the "middle east". Secondly, he is attempting to "fix" problems that will take far longer than he is allowed to be president. The magnitude of that accomplishment will be limited by the degree to which his successor can build upon his work. And lastly, he will ultimately be judged in the future by what he didn't do, as what he did. He inherited such a mess, he will never be able to get to everything that needs fixing.

13. no president is ever able to do all they want while in office...
but it's the attempt and motivation that resonates in history. Obama has already made history--just by the fact of his election. But his policies of working toward progressive change after such a long time of repression will be the final say.

16. If he is successful
A bit like Clinton, it can all be undone with in years of leaving office. FDR had the advantage of 4 terms. LBJ got the Great Society started and Civil Rights Act passed, but he's known for one thing. If Obama can't generate lasting change, he'll be known more for what he didn't get done than did, especially if that is Afghanistan.

Obama is already a proven success just by being the first black president.

20. Obama will accomplish most of his goals while in office.
The rest he will continue to work on when he is out of office.
He will become a world leader and loved by all into the future.
His influence world wide will be enormous.

8. Yes it is
I'll probably, due to my age, never see a white male in our Presidency ever again. And that my friends can and will be good for our long term survival. White male christians have run things for far too long if you ask me and I am considered a white male even though I have many different bloods in my veins
I love our President and like what I can see he is doing.

12. Not to compare the two, but I remember never worrying about where Clinton went or who he met with,
because he was always articulate and never offended anyone. THEN CAME SHRUB!!!!!!!! I got nervous when he talked to a reporter here in the US! We have an entire Shrub dictionary for God sake!

Thank God for an articulate and gratious President again!

25. And he's been back-packing through Pakistan
Given all that's going on over there, it's nice to know the President has actually BEEN to one of the countries involved and met the people.

The fact that his familiarity with religions other than his own and knowledge of countries other than Uhmurika is giving the right wing angina is just a nice bonus.
