This should have been over and done with a few weeks ago, but one House member had to be a diva and make this all about himself. Hopefully, this will all be wrapped up in a few hours.

Remember, next the British Parliament and the US Congress it's the largest legislative body in world. It's really a hoot when you consider the state population is 1.25M.

...IIRC, they only get $200 a year for their legislative pay, as it would be political suicide to vote for a pay raise in Libertarian New Hampshire.

8. "Paid" is a figure of speech

It's actually $100 per year, a bit more if you're the Speaker. After taxes, you've got about $70 bucks. You then have to pay for your business cards and your legislative license plates. By the time you're done, you have just enough to go across the street to the Barley House for a burger and a beer.

There's also a mileage reimbursement, which generally scored me an extra $9 or so each session or committee meeting.
