Howard Stern making fun of Redmond O'Neal's name. Wrong!
Edited on Sat May-16-09 07:40 PM by Mike 03
As much as I appreciate Stern and his crew, I am guessing that Ryan O'Neal and Farrah named their son after the character Ryan played in Stanley Kubrick's film Barry Lyndon.

Does that make sense? It IS an odd name, granted, but it is directly out of the movie Ryan O'Neal played, and it is also, hands down, his best performance and the most important acting he ever, ever did.

Howard, I love ya, but that name didn't come out of nowhere. It is a very logical name, directly from the conduit of the father's most remarkable acting role, directed by one of the world's most famous directors.

What is mysterious about this?

1. You're right, because
I remember seeing that movie when it first came out, and when they named their kid Redmond, it was a rather romantic and sweet tribute. The movie was gorgeous, by the way.

Whatever Howard Stern says is usually best ignored. He's mostly static ............

2. He's irrelevant.
He can scream it from the mountaintops, but no one will hear him.

He should pack it in, instead of phoning it in like the last two years. All he cares about is going home to his gold-digging shiksa, and hanging out in the Hamptons with the very same people he used to make fun of.

Another fraud.

4. Actually, his shows on Sirius have been great, and he still has millions of listeners.
You might not appreciate him, but he's hardly irrelevant.

5. I don't see anything wrong with the name Redmond.
It's not like they gave him some Hollyweird name like "Pollywantsacracker" or "Tornado".

While the name is unusual, it's a perfectly fine name.

It's Irish for Raymond.
