21. I try for the short time I have in the morning
before I have to go to work...I usually have to leave before 7:00, so i don't have that long a time to get ill.

This morning, though, was particularly irritating, with Joe being Joe, and Mika just absolutely being Meeka. I turned it off and left for work earlier than usual.

5. Revisionist History...Stretch Delivers...
Just a refresher for those based in the real world...the boooosh regime used the '02 elections as a wedge to get their war for profit. In the days running up to the election, as Andy Card then said, they rolled out the "Fall fashions"...pushing for a quick vote on giving boooshie unlimited powers to wage war and violate civil rights, and those who questioned became targets. Dare I mention a great American and Senator, Max Cleland...who was slandered because he tried to stand up. Where was Stretch then? Dancing with MC Rove, of course.

7. did you notice
that he said "I talked to someone yesterday who said that neither Democrats nor Republicans would get away from this clean." Notice he didn't say an "official" or "administration source". No. "Someone". I remember during Race for the White House, he said "I was watching MTP yesterday (this was when Brokaw was doing it) with someone when Obama was on, and they said, 'you know, I just don't find him impressive." Uh, ok, Davey. WHAT THE FUCK does that have to do with anything? Be weary of his "someone", because he would have qualified it more if it was an actual source.

Yes, and he kept saying "There are Republicans who were IN THAT ROOM who say they WERE BRIEFED!" Ummm, did he ever get around to mentioning the other Democrats who said they WEREN'T briefed? I turned it off, but I doubt he made that point. Gregory is an effing disgrace.

12. He got the RNC talking point in and that's all that counts.
What they don't realize is Democrats would not defend other Democrats who were proved to have been in sync with Bushco torture.

16. exactly.
It's not a matter of scoring Political points, and you would think that the media would LIKE the idea of an investigation that could possibly implicate both parties....very telling that they don't.

9. He's doing a great job of bringing down the ratings on MTP too.
Lowest they've been in years. NBC blew it when they chose him to replace Russert.

23. There are very, very few
journalists who want the public to have access to accurate information on the torture policies. David Gregory is definitely not among them.

The victims of these atrocities can forever be relegated to the "Other" category; and we can do anything to the "Others" in the name of National Security.

Edit to add: I think I might start a thread on that point

15. i emailed the show about 10 minutes ago, while davegreg was spewing his BS...
they ran the Boehner-attacks-Pelosi scroll at the bottom, and I sent them the link to Boehner's 2007 comments and asked them why they weren't mentioning THAT as part of today's attacks on Pelosi...

27. In 2002, how many Democrats knew
Even the most inclusive list would extend to just Daschle, Graham, Pelosi and Harman who might have been told in November 2002 - and even that is contested. In addition it was in a classified briefing, so it is not clear what they could have done - other than quietly protest as Harman did. It was not until about a year later, in late 2003 that most Democrats heard anything - when the Abu Ghraib stories came out - two prominent Democrats, both running for President spoke out on the DAY that story broke. Kerry called for Rumsfeld to resign over it - as did Dean, independently, a few hours later.

This is bizarre twisting - where Gregory is acting as though people who knew, but couldn't stop it - were as complicit as those that ordered it. It also uses the fact that many Democrats were horrified by the torture and will be tempted to reject anyone who had anything to do with it. This results in a person who helplessly knew about it having more consequences than the people who did it.
