Scoop: Fur Flies Between PETA, Karl Rove

<snip>

Rove provoked the group's ire with a rap routine he performed at the Washington Radio and TV Correspondents' dinner.

"Listen up suckas, don't get the jitters," Rove rapped, "but MC Rove tears the heads off of critters." And when asked if he has any hobbies, Rove said he enjoys "ripping the tops off of animals" and demonstrated with his hands.

"We saw your bizarre routine. . . and our first thought was, 'Don't give up your day job,'" PETA president Ingrid Newkirk wrote in a letter to Rove at the White House. "On second thought, we do wish you'd give up your day job. . . . You have a severe compassion deficit and, sadly, you have the president's ear, and the last thing this country needs is someone whispering something violent into it."

Wasn't Rove just joking, asked The Scoop? "He hunts DOVES!" fired back Newkirk. "They're four-ounce symbols of PEACE."

1. "ripping the 'tops' off animals?" What are tops? Doesn't he mean heads?
and yes, I agree with PETA - please quit your day job!

11. Actually, I am impressed
And since I am generally favorable to PETA's positions, I am happy about this.

4. Rove is going to have trouble adjusting to real life when he leaves Xanadu
and is no longer a godling. Hopefully he will go from Xanadu to Oz, in just a few weeks, but I won't hold my breath on justice.

7. Zoosadism
Zoosadism
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ernest Bornemann (1990, cited by Rosenbauer 1997) coined the term zoosadism for those who derive pleasure from inflicting pain on an animal, sometimes with a sexual component. Some extreme examples of zoosadism include necrozoophilia (a portmanteau between necrophilia and zoophilia), the sexual enjoyment of killing animals, similar to "lust murder" in humans, sexual penetration of birds such as hens (which is fatal to the hen) and strangling at orgasm, mutilation, sexual assault with objects (including screwdrivers and knives), interspecies rape, fire or burning, and sexual assault on immature animals such as puppies.

Modern research, and most sexology information sites (if sufficiently detailed), are usually careful to distinguish zoosadism, the enjoyment of causing suffering to animals, from zoophilia, the emotional or sexual bonding with animals: Humboldt Berlin University Sexology Dept (list of paraphilias) sex-lexis.com and sexualcounselling.com.

Zoosadism committed with the intent of causing suffering or pain, is often considered a dangerous warning sign of a potential abuser towards humans too.

8. I can't stand Rove...but what's wrong with hunting doves?
IMHO, they are the best tasting game fowl.

10. That's why the comedian who pulled Rove up on stage and asked the
...questions that got those crazy half in the bag answers from KKKarl Rove summed up by saying, "Okay, so we all know now that you you spend your spare time twisting heads off squirrels, slapping a bunch of stamps on them and mailing them to yourself!"
