Something I have trouble with. Help explain it since we have a Dem Pres.
When bush was president, all the Republicans needed were a slim majority in the Senate and they could get anything crammed through. Now that Obama is President, we need 60 votes for anything to get through.

6. But the excuse always is we need 60 votes, not that about 10 Democrats
are bush Democrats. That's dishonest. Is it a way for the party to "protect" these bush Democrats in public discussions?

2. Repukes march lock-step.
They are an ideologically pure party. Hate, xenophobia and tax cuts.

The Democratic Party is a coalition of moderate center-left to Democratic Socialists. They don't act as a single unit when in the opposition, or in power.

The reukes are lemmings with one dark mind, at all times.

4. they didn't cram through everything they wanted. t hat's a myth.
in fact they were blocked on many issues, including social security. beyond that, bushco had 9/11 as an effective tool for the first 3 years or so.

14. bushco didn't need any help from Congress to torch the constitution
though he certainly got it. my point still stands; you made a claim that isn't true.

7. We are always held to an impossible standard, and the republicans are held to no standard at all
Edited on Sun May-03-09 08:41 AM by Peacetrain
When I think about the "expectations" game they used to talk about. If Bush was not raving about the moon being made of green cheese.. woo hoo cheers all around.

With Obama, and the same was true with Clinton.. you get the Messiah meme, when it is not us looking and expecting perfection, but those who oppose us, if things are not "perfect" then somehow we failed.

Up to my proverbial eyebrows with the double standard.

This is not about honest criticism...totally different animal. This is about the President, or the

Democrats can do no right constant howl...

That is why, if order for anything we do to be valid, we need to have 80 to 90% of the populace, or 60 votes on the senate by the media.. just totally off the charts demands of perfection made of us

I am not sure who said this, either a politician or some biggy in hollywood but when asked if he belonged to an organized political party he answered "No I am a Democrat".

19. If any republican is threatening of a vote the 'wrong' way.
They are taken in a room and persuaded how to vote.
If that doesn't work. They are cut off, and guaranteed
a tough heavily financed and endorsed primary opponent.

It works every time.
