Rock Island, IL Mayoral race only 15 votes apart
Rock Island, IL is a city of around 50,000 located in western Illinois, hard on the banks of the Mississippi River. Yesterday municipal elections were held, and the vote total was 3065 for a guy named Dennis Pauley and 3050 for his opponent, David Levin. There will be an automatic recount and apparently there are some absentee ballots which haven't been counted yet. Either way, it will be close and I bet should Levin come out on the short end he won't keep holding things up like that guy in Minnesota. I realize that this is nowhere on the scale of Franken vs. Coleman, but maybe it should be. Or at least a lesson for Coleman. www.qctimes.com Right on the front page.
