Misgivings about the Hilary Product
Dear Senator Clinton,

A while back, a pastor of a small community church asked me about Faith. We had been discussing the nature of God, the divinity of Christ and things of that nature. She asserted, rather emphatically, that to have Faith in God, I must believe that the Bible is equitable to God on Earth. I argued that God cannot be bound by any book or any other craft of Man and that to actually preach such things is an apostasy to the very spirit she espouses to worship. As harsh as the synopsis may sound, the conversation was very cordial. As we parted, she told me to study on my faith in the Bible and I took her request to heart.

Since then, I have thought a great deal about Faith… I’ve prayed about it… read many great minds… delved into other religions… searching for an adequate definition to the word. Until now, I hadn’t quite put my finger on what Faith really was or the power it wielded over humanity. What I’ve come to understand is that Faith is a very real and very formidable force of nature. With Faith one man can tell a mountain to move and it will most certainly move… just as another, through faith, can lead a group of very good natured people into a terrible war of aggression, bringing pain and suffering to millions. When one beautiful little brown man in homespun cloth took a walk to the sea, it was Faith that led the world to follow. When a man stood on a box cloaked and hooded in black with wires tied to his body… his arms outstretched and aching… it was faith that crucified him. I now recognize that Faith is the most powerful force on the face of the earth and what I choose to place my faith in really does make a difference.

So here we are… you are asking me to place my Faith in you and are wisely opening a dialogue with the American people in the hopes of wielding the immense power of our collective Faith. What concerns me the most is that your strategy to win Faith appears to rely heavily on how much money you have and that you have the means to run the best campaign money can buy. It is my understanding that you intend to hire the best PR firms… run the most commercial’s… distribute millions of fliers… operate a behemoth of a political campaign… host thousands of speeches… all with the intent of selling the Hilary Product to the American people. The main reservation I have in considering you as a viable candidate is, I don’t know where the sale ends and the real Hilary begins. How do I know what I’m really buying?

In our Government, there are only a few people who have earned my Faith. Senator Boxer has earned it… she’s earned it because she stood up and raised the hope of a million angels. The Honorable and most revered John Conyers has earned it… because he has proven to be our Patron Saint of Democracy. Senator Feingold because he said “No” when “Yes” was expected… Al Gore because he never stopped fighting... Dennis Kucinich because he fights for what's right and what's seldom popular… John Edwards because he was smart enough to marry Elizabeth… and a handful of others have earned my Faith.

I have placed my Faith in these people because they vehemently support me… even though they don’t even know I exist. They all in turn have stood up and lit the fires of my Faith… they have, in essence, baptized me in fire. They have taught me what it is to stand alone with only hope on my side… they have taught me to believe in what’s right not just what feels righteous… they have taught me to choose the truth over “truthiness”… they have taught me how to have Faith not only in our form of Government but in humanity on the whole. It is these qualities that I look for in a leader… I’m looking for the teacher, the sage and the warrior all rolled up into one. You may posses these characters… you may turn out to be the very best thing for America and the world but how can I be sure the sales pitch is genuine when I know you’re paying top dollar to craft a message I want to hear… when it might not be the message I need to hear.

I don’t care that you’re a woman. I don’t care that you’re Bill Clinton’s wife. I don’t care about any of your labels… what I do care about is the type of person who steps in to fix this gigantic catastrophe of a failed new order. Prove to me that you’ll fight for peace… for hope… for truth… even when no one supports you or even believes you. Prove to me you have more than just the strength and power that is so clearly evident. And most importantly, prove to me you’ll use the Faith of America... currently the most powerful force on the planet... to a good end and for a universally righteous cause. Show me your heart and inspire me… which so far you have not done… not yet.

1. I think her staying with Bill is your answer
She showed the faith of family and America, as well as optimism and hope. One classy lady.

Others like Newt and Rudy slunk out as family moralists and still appear as politicians. She hung in there. One tough lady.

But she has hung in there as a class act and never losing focus on her public servant job.

4. I do like her... I agree with most of her positions but it's hard to tell...
...what is a position and what is a true core belief. Take Sen. Obama for instance... if he's crafted... it damn sure doesn't appear that way. He seems to have all the good traits of Bill Clinton ... the charm... the intellect... the decency... and he's been steady even while holding an unpopular moral opinion. I get a totally different vibe from him than I do with Hilary and if the primary were held today, he would be my choice.

5. There's nothing wrong with Obama
I would trust Hilary more. She's been a little more tested and tried.

6. My thoughts too - She's been there.
Other times in history, a less experienced person and someone with thinner skin would be great.

This time, we need a veteran who already knows what to expect, knows how she will be trashed and most importantly, knows how to pick her battles, fight back and win.

Not to mention, knowledge, intelligence and previous "on the job training."

The country is in a mess in every way. We need a new president who knows how to "cleanup" all of it & do it quickly. Someone who would rarely have to even stop and think about what to do next.

She has been there and done that...as the saying goes.
