Jonah Goldberg's Plagiarized column?
According to the folks at Sadly, No!, Goldberg and Katherine Lopez have published identical articles online on the same day:

http://www.sadlyno.com/archives/19021.html

The gist of the article (s) seems to be that everything wrong is really Obama's fault, not Bush's.

Hardly an original thought in their circles, but two identical columns?

Some intern must've sold the same story to both of them?

1. HaHa! One of them plagiarized, anyhow.
How embarrassing. I hope someone captures the screens, since they'll be pulling at least one of these.

2. They were both still up a while back
Sadly had the screen captures, but both columns were still up hours after the posting.

3. Ah, these trust fund babies are so sad.
Goldberg, Carlson, Norquist...the whole sad lot who never learned what a real day of work looks like.

4. Oopsie!
Now I wonder if either one of them wrote the article. Maybe Uncle Karl's playing sockpuppet?

5. That's my guess
That they both got it from somewhere else.

Sounds like some low-level staffer or staffers accidentally loaded it in the wrong place for at least one of them?

But perhaps the LATimes, where Jonah sits on the editorial board, would like to look into this?

6. I think Townhall mislabeled the column as belonging to K-Lo
They just added another column by K-Lo.

7. Not so sure about that
The column is listed in her archives and I would imagine the webmasters know which directory folders are hers considering she's been there so long. As far as I can tell, Jonah Goldberg is not a columnist for Townhall and would therefore not have an archive directory.

8. Well, it may just be incompetence
The fact that both columns are still up--despite several comments posted to Lopez about the repetition--would suggest that there's some glaring, ongoing incompetence here.

If it were purposeful plagiarism, surely one or both of them would have been taken down and sent down the rabbit hole by now?

9. I don't doubt incompetence
Just the same, that whoopsie took effort. Something's off.

10. LOL
Maybe neither one of them wrote it and neither one of them wants to take their's down and have to explain why they took credit for it in the first place. Maybe we're watching a game of chicken playing out? Or maybe they're trying to come up with a plausible excuse for both of them posting the exact same article. Gee I wonder if Politico has their crack reporters on this story? LOL

11. perhaps Jonah is a secert cross dresser?
Katherine Lopez and Jonah Goldberg are the same person. As far as I can tell this is the only solution. Until I see them together I will assume Jonah Goldberg IS Katherine Lopez.

12. From the LA Times:

Thanks for your note. I passed this along to editors in the opinion section.

The website on which both writers appear, apparently – Townhouse.com – seems to have confused the columns and bylines, placing separate bylines over the same copy. By now perhaps the problem has been fixed.

The column in question was written by Goldberg, though.

Thanks for writing,

Jamie Gold
