Edited on Mon Mar-23-09 10:16 AM by Winterblues
zero for Education. According to the morning news on AM radio there is $197 million in Defense "Stimulus" money for Alaska and $160 million in Education "Stimulus" money and Palin does not want to accept the Education money because it has "Strings" attached she says. Is Alaska gaining on Florida for most screwed up state or has it passed it already? By the way, why should there be more money for Defense than Education? It isn't the sort of change I had imagined.

3. She's defending their ignorance?
More educated Alaskans would mean the end of her career.

5. Can they cherry-pick which funds to take like this?
I thought I heard Congress wasn't going to allow cherry-picking on stimulus funds?

6. There's a *real* Conservative value for you.
They think there's too much education as it is, and that we need a lot less of this "learning" stuff. I think it's a part of their general anti-intellectual streak.

7. Caribou Barbie=HYPOCRITE
One would think that a mother with a special needs child of her own, would be wholly in favor of supporting and encouraging any educational funding that could be used to improve their odds of success in life. A child that could become a more productive and self-sufficient member of society would be an asset, rather than a potential liability. The long-term costs of dependence on others and the government would likely far outweigh the short-term costs of more education and training for most special needs schoolchildren.

This "woman" truly disgusts me. Trig will likely get the education and assistance he needs, due to the Palin family's income. If she passes on accepting it, I hope it convinces many more Alaskan voters decide to take a pass on her as well, in her likely campaign for reelection as governor.
