ANOTHER long time store is closing (SEARS in Bellevue, Ne) THANKS WAL-MART

I saw the guy wearing a billboard on the way home. Sears in Bellevue is closing after more than 30 years. They couldn't compete with the NEW Walmart down the street. It took 4 years. What a shame. Walmart chased Albersons out in 2004. Those were union jobs with health and retirement benefits. I'll have to drive out of my way to not shop at Walmart, but Marta and I don't care. We don't do Walmart or Sam's.

1. How far is too far to drive? I'd like to cut WM out of my shopping but the next
closest store that sells groceries and general merchandise is 44 miles away so that's like a 90 mile roundtrip. (The WM is 6 miles away and it employs 245 people in the nearby small town, all of whom are glad to have jobs)

3. Wal*Mart has successfully removed from the consumer's awareness the true cost of what they sell.
Most Wal*Mart shoppers think they're saving money, but they don't know (or don't care) about the enormous social costs of shopping there.

It's a moral crime to give ANY money to Wal*Mart.

4. Besides that, they sell crap

I bought a set of dishes and glasses there. I have 1/2 the dishes left, none of the glasses. They just couldn't stand up to me.
My friend told me " why not shop at wal-mart, think of all the money you'll save ". If I have to pay $5.00 at Wal-Mart to replace something every year, instead of paying $7.50 Somewhere else, and replace it every three years, or never, how much money am I actually saving?

ANSWER: NONE

Wal-mart is a scam. Cheap crap that doesn't last, so you have to spend money over and over again for things that used to last a lifetime.

5. I agree 100%
Walfart is a scam and they are hell bent on destroying all
stores until they can control and manipulate us. They are
just now getting into the electronic medical records business.
When that happens, they will have a lock on Medical Records,
Prescriptions, Food, and Imports. I know this sounds like I'm
going off the deep end but you just wait, you'll see there
influence more and more.

6. You got it

Walmart opened down the street 5 years ago. Notice the story in another post talks about sales falling the last 5 years. :-(
