I just got home and I have seen all manner of references to Edwards' house.

So what is the deal?

I will now thank any of my Fellow Travelers who might shed some light on this for me.

Tom

1. I certainly hope you haven't been at work
You elitest bastard. Don't you know that you are depriving other Americans of jobs when you have one?

10. Yep, I have...
I work 12-14 hours per day.

Every day.

Every goddamned day.

I had hoped that I would/could get some straight answers on this.

16. Sorry to have been snarky
We are being invaded by some saying that Edwards house is too big, therefore he can't be President. He is an elitest. He is taking away resources. (There are even pictures of starving children in one thread).
Now Kucinich cannot be President because his house is too small.
Etc etc.
A billion copycat threads.
Anyway...:hi:
Kick your feet back.
Enjoy the humor.
Have a beer!:toast:

23. Thanks, Horse...
I was truly curious and was somewhat taken aback by replies to my inquiry.

Sometimes this site percolates and generates its own kind of energy on a subject and the underlayment is not all that evedent to someone who is late arriving.

That being said, I did expect a more sober response to my request.

11. Actually--I saw three threads that appeared to have similar themes
and were begun in the same general period. But I'm soo very prepared to be wrong.

After a while, though, when the same themes keep appearing, one cannot help but begin to associate the same names appearing with said themes. Origninating or expanding-- it's all just WMD (for distraction)

Nothing to see here lookyloos :)

8. He sold it for $500k less than asking price to a guy who could afford a $4.8M
home.

And guess who's buying $4.8M homes in DC these days? People with ties to the Republican party.

So Edwards must be corrupt.

12. would guess that it won't make as much sense to one
living in the Tiberon. (I worked there in '98 and saw the escalation of home prices). At least per prices of homes.

Y'know?

18. Yeah, and from what I understand, he is on major acreage.
Damn, it is fiscally painful to live here.

But I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Even if I end up living in amongst the pilings at Sam's.

28. I hear ya. Tiburon is gorgeous. Used to live in San Rafael, myself.
Now I'm up in Sonoma County, which is still far better than a sharp stick in the eye.

Wish we could get more of y'all on board for this SMART rail, though! :hi:

15. Edwards sold his house in DC for more than he paid for it.
Since prices in DC have tripled in the last year or two this is not a bit deal. He also sold it for below the appraised price. I think he just wanted to get the sale done. Some one found out he made money on the deal and the republicans are smearing and slurring as usual. Absolutely nothing to it. A person sells his house for a profit.

17. Edwards Home
T,

It's just a strange house configuration with a lot of landscaping needed. The little buildings attached to each other to reach the "barn" are rather bizarre. Looks like a lot of clearing was done...so maybe they have plans for the back. Hope your day at work was swift and productive.

LA, Your X

25. I do believe that I fall into that group
You live in whatever environment that you can (and desire to) live in.

I have dined in palaces and looked hard at living in my car (so I went and traded it in for a van).

But everything is OK today.

If any of us had Edwards' money, we would surely do the same thing.

102 acres and a fine house?

Sign me up.
