1. Yes - just like they did on terrorism before 9-11. A 9-11 event wouldn't have been possible

if journalists had focused on REAL events that mattered to this nation, like the serious and outstanding matters in BCCI, Iraqgate and CIA drugrunning in the 90s instead of the media forcefeeding the nation a constant diet of hyped up distraction stories about Clinton's sex life. A Bush2 presidency wouldn't have been possible, too.

Had the full revelations about BCCI and S&L crisis (and even Enron) ever been divulged to public, there wouldn't be global economic chaos today.

But, the corporate media controlled by the same crooks involved in the fascist agenda had no intention of the public ever hearing the truth about those matters.

2. Actually one panelist said the warnings were out there for 5 years.
From sources such as the NYT. The Washington post. The Financial Times.

5. Kerry inserted a plank into the 2004 Dem platform to focus on mortgage and credit problems BEFORE
they became a national crisis. Corpmedia ignored the plank, and many of us believe they ignored it deliberately.

Was there anything even in the GOP platform? Nope. They don;t have to do shit.....corpmedia spreads the idea that Republicans are better for the economy, no matter what facts exist that repeatedly prove otherwise decade after decade.

3. Gee, I hope they're able to absolve themselves
This has all the suspense of a military tribunal investigating a military massacre. Some enlisted schlub might (might) get penalized, but you know everyone else is going to get a pass. Some minor factotum (Jim Cramer seems a likely sacrificial lamb, he's pretty damaged goods already) will get a "Wag of the Finger" and the rest of the media Kewl Kidz will be covered in glory for bein' so brave and honest on the television set.
