Here's a perfect example of how the SC legislature and Gov.Sanford act.
Lawmakers want seperate police force
Sen. Glenn McConnell has introduced a bill to create a Capitol police force outside the control of Gov. Mark Sanford.

McConnell's bill is the latest battle in a long-running war over a $6 million plan to tighten State House security. Lawmakers approved installation of gates, secured doors and a card system to State House
buildings, but Sanford ordered the Department of Public Safety to turn off the system and leave guard posts unmanned. DPS is a cabinet agency the governor controls.

McConnell said he can not allow the recommendations of law enforcement professionals to go unneeded, and criticized the governor for leaving a security gate in place to restrict access to the governor's parking space.

And this is just one of the spats. They fight with Sanford about everything. Sanford is trying to gather all control into the executive branch. Sound familiar?? The lege should fight him on some things, but basically it's war.
