DNC anti-Rush billboard in Palm Beach County = EPIC FAIL
http://edition.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/03/12/limbaugh.democrats.ad/?iref=mpstoryview

"Americans didn't vote for a Rush to failure?" Are you fucking kidding me?

I'm happy for the contest winner, but geez, I know there were better submissions than this.

1. It sounds like
A GOP talking point saying President Obama is doing to much at once. This is either really stupid or corporate subversion.

2. So it's not just me?
KO wondered, too.

Ah, well. This is why Democrats shouldn't do GOPig-type things, and just stick with the business of governing well, taking care of the citizenry, and winning elections. When it comes to smear tactics - even when they're true - we are just entirely too well-mannered and careful.

Mine would probably have said, "RUSH LIMBAUGH - alone in a Central American hotel room with a small young boy and a big old bottle of Viagra."

That would have been great on the billboard.

The winner really just sucked.

9. I like the one a DUer came up with last week -
Had a picture of Rush & Osama bin Laden and said "Both of these men want America to fail"

It was perfect.

In fact, I would donate to a fund that would put that up for a billboard.

...I think he just might have chosen that billboard.

26. That ad has balls... our party however does not...
I think it's a terrific idea. I also would be running ads day and night saying, "Who are your Republican representatives working for?" And run down votes/policies where they tried to prevent regular people health care, helped ship their jobs overseas, etc, etc and end it with them whining about the poor, poor rich people.

I would run them in Republican districts and by the time 2010 came around we'd have a 90/10 majority in the House. :)

11. It's fine with me
They needed something pretty obvious to point out that it's aimed toward rush, and something short so people would actually read it. It's not the greatest but it's exactly what it needs to be.

12. This whole idea was stupid from the start...
Even if it was a "good" slogan all it would do would be to show Rush that he knows how to push our buttons.

The slogan used is of course utterly stupid.

The best way to drive Rush Limbaugh nuts is to ignore him and make him irrelevant.

When people start talking about him say "Rush who?"..and when they say "Limbaugh" say "oh I forgot about him.. he's still around?"

13. I agree, epic FAIL
if they had just copied the latest Newsweek cover, a picure of Rush with tape over his mouth saying
"SHUT UP" it would have been better.

14. Keith pointed out there was one entry that said
RUSH HOUR IS OVER IN AMERICA

He asked, why not that one? At least it's a pun on the idea that you see billboards during rush hour. It sure beats what they picked.

17. This Was A Generally Non-Optimal Scheme
Sounds like a few people got drunk and thought "Hey, wouldn't it be fun if we bought a billboard in Palm Beach and dissed OxyRush?!" Problem is that there's nothing very funny to be said. They didn't think this thing out at all.

23. This is even worse than I thought. It TOTALLY looks like a Rush ad.
It's as if he's the one saying "Americans didn't vote for a Rush to failure." They're going to give him free ads?

I don't think this is a good strategy.

How can this be stopped?

Holy Moses.

28. Welcome to the tepid Timmy Kaine's DNC...
Also.. wonder why there haven't been any strong Dems fighting for Obama's plans on TV? Isn't that pretty much one of the DNC's duties at this point, to have their President's back strong on TV?

I'm so glad the POS DLCers won out again. :(

I understand he's virtually a hermit in his big house. Hardly ever ventures out into the big bad world. Just hides behind his fucking golden microphone.

And after the video of him bouncing up and down like an asshole at that wing nut conference got so much play I doubt if he'll show up in public ever again.

31. A DUer (sorry, I don't remember who!) came up with a FANTASTIC one...
... it was a picture of Rush on one side and Osama Bin Laden on the other, and the text was, "Both of these men want America to fail". That was HANDS DOWN the winner in my mind. The winning one pretty much sucks. :(
