If I ever win a lottery, I am leaving the country that very day.
I can't take the stress anymore. If the fools who live here and run the place insist on pulling the chain on "the big toilet," I will take any chance that presents itself to climb out of the bowl before the flush.

Yeah, I'll probably recover by the end of the week, but if I hit the lottery tonight, SAYONARA.

28. Project much?
you wrote (since it's sure to be deleted) "why don't you just go right now if you hate it so much?"

it's pure projection, isn't it? I bet you hate what the majority of this country has become--liberal, caring, more committed than ever to truly equal opportunity for all of our citizens, even the "faggots" and "niggers"--that you'd just love to leave right now for some place you perceive as whiter and straighter.

I'm sure you can find some part of unoccupied Baffin Island where you can make a little paradise for yourself and your creepy, basement-dwelling kin. Good luck with that.

7. Exactly
Doesn't matter if its the Democrats or the Republicans, I'm afraid that We the People have lost our country. So sad, but true.

Ironically, if you were rich you might stay and use that influence, but as a poor person you have no sayso anymore.

26. I think you have an answer.
If I won a SIZABLE lottery, say $500 million, maybe I could make a difference.

I think this would be a fun new topic.

A friend of mine is in Chile and sent pictures. It's got spectacular scenery, a moderate climate, seems relatively affluent, and it appears quaint but cultured. Anyone been there?

34. Where to, though?
Edited on Tue Mar-27-07 07:38 PM by ends_dont_justify
I had that contemplation, but...is there anywhere in the world that's really more corruption free? I once thought australia, but I hate their environmental policies. Then britain, but they have blair. Canada, well you've seen the menu food things. They're like america jr, and I wouldn't feel safe anywhere south of the border. They either find corruption or are not large enough where if another tyrant wanted to take them out they wouldn't end up like iraq is now.

I personally figure it's better to stay and fight...whether that fight is with a pen or with a sword. Although if you do go someplace, make sure it's tropical ;) or at the very least has enjoyable weather. What with global warming I would think moving out of country should weigh on the climate of the place you move to.

Best of luck...but know there are those of us who have shared your thoughts. I just think it'd suck to go through all of this mindless bickering or writing of words to battle for freedom and leave just before the gloves come off...

edit: spelling
