John McCain might be fan favorite during Phoenix Suns games, but Arizona’s senior senator sure didn’t receive a warm hometown welcome Sunday night in front a national crowd at US Airways Center.

McCain, who’s held his seat in Arizona for 22 years, was greeted with a smattering of boos and hisses when introduced with wife, Cindy, during a break between the first and second quarter of the NBA All-Star game Sunday night.

His presidential opponent Barack Obama was greeted more cordially after a short speech that aired during halftime on the stadium’s monitors and big screens.

Obama is scheduled to visit Dobson High School in Mesa Wednesday morning where he is expected to introduce a $50 billion rescue package intended to stymie foreclosures.

1. I guess that McCain's recent vocal opposition to the stimulus is causing this?
Kind of amazing, given his home turf...

9. If this keeps up, Arizona might stand a good chance of going blue in 2012.

12. I'm afraid that AZ

ain't gonna go blue any time soon.

The right-wing yahoos in Phoenix (those sherrif joe lovers) and the billions of repuke retirees will see to that.

I'm sure most of those boos came from the out of town folk -- we sure as hell couldn't afford to buy a ticket to that game -- the nosebleed seats started at $1600!

In fact, that DAMN Janet Napolitono just abandoned us to the mercies of a FURTHER right-wing legislature and a right-wing governor in order to head up that bullshit "homeland security" (Das Faderland ubber alles)!

That's right, AZ was about the only state to get MORE repuke reps in the statehouse as a result of the last election!

Of course, the democrat party here in AZ mostly resembles deer in the headlights more than anything else...unbelievable. In fact, her in Tucson they didn't even run a candidate against the republican mayor. I heard highly placed Dems tell me that "Bob's ok, he gets a lot of development into town!" YUCH!

So we're working on seceding.

10. That picture! Ye gods!
John McCain: possibly the only person living or dead who looks better in his Drew Friedman caricature than he does in real life...
