Sick of hearing from the Repugs, "No one was able to read this bill"...
Rep. Eric Cantor on TV just now, with the talking points, they didn't have time to read the stimulus bill.

Yet they seem to know everything about it...how it's not going to work and all. If they didn't read it how could they know that?

I'm so sick of these people!

1. They are talking out of both sides of their mouths again
Republicans are good at wanting it both ways.

9. That's what I think of every time they raise this stupid talking point.
Congress passed that abomination without even thinking about it, much less reading the damned thing.

4. They didn't have time
Edited on Mon Feb-16-09 07:30 AM by rpannier
Sorry they didn't have bigger pictures, pop up pictures, a CD with Larry King reading the Bill so they could better understand and follow it

on a serious note: If the Dems had waited for them to 'read it' It would be July 2012 by the time they were ready to vote

5. Here's a link to Evelyn Wood Reading Dynamics

Maybe we should send this link to the Republicans. In the interest of bipartisanship, of course.

6. They seem to conveniently forget....
when Phil Gramm snuck a little piece of legislation (you know the one that caused all this mess) in a 1000 page Omnibus Spending Bill at midnight. It was scheduled for a vote the following AM without the opportunity for anyone to read it....Dems complained and pubs said STFU and vote for it. it was the beginning of the sub-prime era!

7. Tell 'em to quit whining and just cast their meaningless votes
They're all going to vote against it in the finest Politburo style, so what's the point in their reading it?

Oh that's right, they're Republicans; the Party of Fine Whine.

10. The republicans did this OFTEN when they were in charge
I think every bill should have a certain amount of time and that they should be required to read the entire thing before voting.
