And they are BANKs?!!! How sweet is that? That extra accounting would just make their itty bitty heads swim.

So next time, let's make them set up special TARP accounts and we can see where each and every disbursement goes. Gee, you think bankers, and lawyers and Congress Critters would have already thought of that.

It's like they NEVER heard the phrase "co-mingle" RED ALERT RED ALERT HIGHLY ILLEGAL

2. 'Course they can. They just won't.
They need to be made to account for every penny or give it back.

4. Sometimes, all those numbers must confuse them
Sure, they can deal with easy things like foreclosures and overdrafts, but this "government paperwork" is TOO MUCH.

6. President Obama and US Treasury Secretary Geitner should say that
Edited on Mon Feb-02-09 08:18 PM by 4lbs
since the banks don't have the ability to account for what they did with all the TARP money they got, each one will get "help" from about a dozen IRS, SEC, and Treasury agents.

:D

7. If you rememeber, it was written in the TARP law that there would be NO oversight
and further written than NO govberning body had the power to be involved in the TARP distribution.

And even the Dems voted for it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

10. Say you have $10 in your bank account. I give you another $10 which you deposit
into the account.

You write a check for $5 to buy lunch. Does the $5 come from the money I gave you or the money that was already in your account?

11. Well, if I was sharing the account with my sister -in-law
Edited on Tue Feb-03-09 11:23 PM by Phoebe Loosinhouse
and I wanted to keep fair and square records with her ( she put in 5 and I put in 5 to open the account)

I would pay for lunch and in the memo section I would write "Lunch - P.Loosinhouse from T Savalas 10.00 deposit"

I think my sister-in-law and I would be able to figure it out AND T Savalas would know that $5 out of his $10 went for lunch.
