Jennifer Hudson rocked the "Star Spangled Banner" . It must be said that she is
an incredible singer. The Dreamgirls movie was a little to close for comfort. Beyonce is the light, forgettable singer compared to Jennifer.

2. I walked out of "Dreamgirls" with my jaw dropping after
Jennifer's big solo.

One of the most memorable movie moments ever.

4. Pity she's a raging homophobe
It raises the whole issue of the extent to which one can separate a person's flaws from their talent.

7. If you're going to call someone out as "homophobe" you'd think you'd at minimun
give a hint of context.

Thanks.

Personally, I don't think it matters. Do we stop listening to the music of Wagner because of his anti-Semitism?

12. I don't know about Hudson because I don't really listen to her music, but yes, I do hesitate with
Wagner. I am always conscious of his anti-semitism, but I am also educated about his music and the philosophy that is its underpinnings. This understanding is what is needed and is important. We NEED to know what it was that brought him to such beliefs and where it came from. THAT is important. His music is what it is and some of it is impressive. But he is not the greatest composer of all times. He is a giant of Romanticism because he embodies so much of its rhetoric and philosophy, but he is not at the pinnacle interms of all Western music...

10. Jennifer is not homophobic- Elton John was one of her earliest supporters
And she loves her Dreamgirls director - Bill Condon and she has sung at many gay events.

Stop spreading untruths about Jennifer. She has been through enough this year.

18. Well, reading her comments, they're not as bad as I remembered
I remember the furore over her saying that being gay was a sin, but if you read it in context, she's not exactly into Fred Phelps territory.

Although entertainers can perform live, Minor insisted that Hudson and Faith Hill, who sang "America the Beautiful" before the national anthem, use the tracks the NFL requires them to submit a week before the game.

"That's the right way to do it," Minor said. "There's too many variables to go live. I would never recommend any artist go live because the slightest glitch would devastate the performance."
