Hummers get more tickets
I'm not surprised, since they have that "Hummer attitude" the "I own the road" belief.

People who drive Hummers receive almost five times as many traffic tickets as the average driver, according to a new study.

Quality Planning Corp., which helps insurance companies identify risk, surveyed data from 1.7 million drivers and found the Hummer H2 and H3 are the most frequently ticketed vehicles on the road, surpassing even the 565-horsepower Mercedes CLK 63 AMG. At the other end of the spectrum, the Jaguar XJ GMC was the vehicle least likely to attract the attention of Johnny Law.

1. You must pass the dickhead test before they let you behind the wheel of one of those things.
So, I'm not surprised.

3. On the subject of Hummers, I noticed on my recent Vegas
trip that there were lots of hummers sitting in parking structures at casinos, all covered with a thick layer of dust. They have obviously not been driven in a long time.

4. I took this shot in 2006 at the Little Big Horn Memorial
mostly because of the obnoxious Jesus thing on the back, but also because this dumbass was illegally parked and blocking traffic.

5. People I know who test drove the things just for a hoot
said they were miserable to try to wrestle around corners and sluggish on the straightaway.

I think the difficulty of driving anything that massive and heavy contributes to the ticket proneness. In addition, cops know which cars are likely to be driven by assholes and pay closer attention and act accordingly when the car is obviously being driven by an asshole.

I've only seen 4 of them on the road here in the city and none of the drivers looked like s/he was particularly enjoying the experience.

7. I won't say "good."
I'll just note that this is probably inevitable. Those who buy Hummers as a great, big "fuck you" to the world probably say "fuck you" to traffic laws, as well--and it's not as though they're able to outrun cops.

8. The operative word is "drivers"
without them the Hummer is two tons of mild steel and cast aluminum.
