I'd like to smack the hell out of Eric Cantor!
All he wants in the stimulus bill is support for small businesses, and not all this other stuff that won't work!

EVERY BUSINESS big or small must have customers WITH MONEY to buy their product or services! If nobody has a job, there's nobody to buy anything! How friggin hard is that to understand?????

1. Tax cuts, tax cuts, tax cuts. No spending. Because
that approach worked so well for the last 8 years.

2. Hehe. He just decried "massive Republican spending" live on MSNBC...
He caught himself quickly though and tried to cover by repeating "massive Democrat spending" with an annoying whine to the "spend-iiinnng".

Quite a Freudian slip there, asshat. Good to know that deep down, even Republicans know who is really responsible for our debt.

4. I heard him state on NPR this morning: "Democrats get off on spending money"
Edited on Wed Jan-28-09 01:34 PM by sparosnare
The words "get off" really PISSED me off. What an asshole. He's going to end up on the losing end of this and will have to explain his opposition to his constituents eventually.

5. He sounded like his state neither wanted or needed any stimulus money
That is good. More for the states that need it.

6. Even FDR piddled around with silly programs
to support prices for two solid years before it finally dawned on him that nothing in the world was going to work except putting people back to work and putting money into their pockets.

We're going to see the supply siders piddle around the same way this time, trying to gut anything that helps workers and trying to pad anything that helps supply siders, from bankers to retail owners.

The truth is that nothing will stop this year from sucking, not even if they manage to do all the right things now instead of two years from now.

I'd almost rather they wait until the disaster has fully unfolded and the supply siders are fully disgraced. If they do the right thing now and it still doesn't work, then we'll have no hope for the long haul.

I think Obama understands what needs to be done. However, he needs to get it past all those fat asses in Congress. That is going to take time.
