Decent Blue Bank?
I've had it. Every bank I opened an account in got swallowed up by Bank of America. I got tired of setting up new accounts over and over so I just gave up and stayed. Their latest anti-Union shit was the last straw.

I'm not interested in a credit union- too far from where I live and I make a lot of deposits.

Any good, moral, Blue banks out there that aren't being eaten up by assholes like BOA or Citi??

TIA

1. I just closed my BOA account after going through a similar scenario.

Went with a smaller bank (Sovereign) and they got bought by Santander a few weeks after I moved my accounts. Staying with them for now but would interested in any responses to your post.

Blue ribbon bank? If so, BofA is one of em. Anyway... I use TDBanknorth - I think they just expanded to Florida. They charge me ZERO fees for anything regarding my checking account, they're open 'till 8pm (3pm on Sat.) and the customer service rocks.

I'm sure other peoples experiences vary... but thats my .02. :)

edit to add: I had a Fleet account way back and stayed when BofA bought them. Those assholes gave me nothing but trouble. Trouble and fees. They suck.

I also have an ING account - but you cant make physical deposits so its only as good as it is.

3. If you are making cash deposits you are kinda fucked

If you are sending in paper checks, a lot of banks allow you to scan the check and submit them electronically. If that is too much of a hassle some banks will provide you a business reply envelope to send in deposits that way.

Credit Unions or banks like USAA are the way to go.

Oh, tell us where you live OP. That will help.

4. ING Direct Is an Electronic Bank
Unless you can get everything direct deposited, you need a brick bank to feed the deposits to them.

Does the credit union allow bank by mail? That's another option for deposits.

I know how you feel about banks....this is my second go around. The S and L crisis in the 80's had my bank changing names several times.

5. Have you considered a Credit Union
instead of a bank? Might be worth your while...
