Every time I think I'm too cynical,
some asshat republican comes on the television. Today it was boehner.

Obama is trying to do it right. Trying to be inclusive. He's getting more help with our country from the Arabs than from the party he keeps wooing.

I still want to think that he is right. But my old, political war wounds keep throbbing, reminding me of how mendacious and evil these bastards are. I hope I'm wrong, but I still can't help feeling that chasing their help is not only futile but counterproductive.

1. He IS right
He's our guy, and he's done everything so well so far. He'll make mistakes, without question, but he's dealing with simpletons, so he's going reeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllllllly slow with these fucktards. They're dumb enough to think they're getting over on him. He's got lots of room in which to maneuver - they don't understand that.

He'll do fine. And these pricks will maybe get an education along with their asses handed to them on a big fat platter.

We're cool. Our PRESIDENT is all right.

OK?

2. obama's great at roping the dopes
"Rope-a-dope" is also used in political contexts, to describe situations in which a contender allows his or her opponent to think the contender is politically weaker than he or she actually is. For example, commentator Andrew Sullivan has described Barack Obama's strategies against Hillary Clinton in the 2008 Democratic primaries, and against John McCain in the Presidential election as "classic rope-a-dope".

4. Much as his "reaching out" bugs me sometimes, I think you're right.

3. I sure wish people would..
call their representatives and ask them to do the right thing. I guess that is too much to expect.

5. They would rather the country collapse than admit Obama
can fix things. They'd rather stand in a soup line. I was even in an American Idol fan forum where the Obama Inauguration thread had to be deleted because the whiny Republicans couldn't stand people celebrating. Christian radio stations are saying the country will now cease to exist. They have no clue that Bush did anything wrong. Brainwashing takes awhile to undo, I guess.
