They danced to one of my favorite songs at the military ball.
The great Etta James made it famous.

At Last Lyrics by Etta James

At last, my love has come along
My lonely days are over
And life is like a song
Oh, yeah, at last
The skies above are blue
My heart was wrapped up in clovers
The night I looked at you
I found a dream that I could speak to
A dream that I can call my own
I found a thrill to rest my cheek to
A thrill that I have never known
Oh, yeah when you smile, you smile
Oh, and then the spell was cast
And here we are in heaven
For you are mine
At last

7. She was good, but I prefer the big band version w/o singing.

9. Yes!
I first heard it as a high school kid in the early 1960s. The song has been around since the 1940s, but the Etta James version is the classic one I always enjoyed.

6. That was my and Mr. MG's wedding song
So it already held a special place in my heart. Now--doubly so!
