Do you know why we few Negative posters exist?
Do you know why the few of us that are taking a skeptical look at todays events exist? We're here to keep you all from getting to giddy. You certainly earned and deserve your day. We want you to have a good day, hell we're loving it too, but all is not sugar and cream and sometimes you get beat so hard for so long that you keep your defenses up no matter what. So have a great day, love it! Just remember that as long and hard as it was to get to today, there's still a tomorrow.

is the goodwill being expressed by the people to each other and the world. This is incredibly noteworthy and positive.
It is beyond a man, it is about people expressing their belief in love. I;m am so happy to see this after all the saber rattling and hate of the last years.

32. I'm honestly sorry
that you "negative posters" can't find it in yourselves to enjoy the day as much as the rest of us are.

That's not to say that I myself am one of those persistent "bluebird of happiness" people, because I'm not. Not by a longshot. I realize that once the celebrations are over, the fancy clothes are put away, the confetti is swept up from the streets, and life gets back to normal, that's when the real work begins.

It won't be pretty. It won't be easy.

But today...just for one day...we have something to celebrate...

Hope.

And that's something we didn't have for eight long years...

34. I appreciate your post ThomWV but...
I prefer acerbic or curmudgeonly to negative. The flock needs some goats, not too may, but a few. It would be a shame to see our woolly buddies walk off the cliff in mass.

The fact that we unknowingly bought the Clinton Administrations sloppy seconds combined with the Bush Administrations executive powers is no cause for rampant giddiness. I say this after working for 9 months to help elect the corporate changling.

42. Everyone will experience
this day in the context of their own lives. Even among those "few Negative posters" that you mention, there are going to be different reasons for each one's approach.

Some may be attempting to express disappointment, because they feel that they have been left out, and their beliefs marginalized. Others may have another agenda, which I would not take the time to respond to.

For those feeling disappointed, and who recognize that important issues are being pushed to the margins, there are choices. One is to attempt to serve as a voice of conscience. I applaud such efforts. Another is to try to somehow ruin the day for others. I do not think that is an approach that will lead to the intended results, either today or in the future.

Peace,
H2O Man
