Anytime the economy goes down some piece of shit screams that we should blame foreigners.

Texas legislators will push more than a dozen immigration measures
By ANABELLE GARAY The Associated Press

DALLAS — Some state lawmakers want to revive immigration discussions by proposing more than a dozen bills that, among other things, would punish employers for hiring unauthorized workers, challenge the U.S. citizenship of immigrants’ U.S-born children and reverse a Texas law that allows undocumented college students to pay in-state tuition.

Other bills filed for the 2009 Legislature would require public schools to maintain records on students’ immigration status, impose a fee on money wired to Latin America, require identification from voters at the polls, prohibit parole for illegal immigrants and create a state criminal trespassing charge for illegal immigrants enforced by local police.

Several of the proposals are similar to ones introduced in the last session that failed to make it out of committee because they were considered unconstitutional.

"I think in some ways, they follow an old pattern. A lot of bills will be introduced," said Muzaffar Chishti, director of the Migration Policy Institute at NYU School of Law. "And they will be introduced again for the same political motivation by the same cast of characters. The issue is: 'Is it more likely that they’ll get passed this time?’ "

4. I, a foreigner, know more about the US Constitution than Texas legislators.
"...challenge the U.S. citizenship of immigrants’ U.S-born children..."

Good luck getting 37 other states to go along with that shit.

8. Shall we make a list of all the immigrants' US-born children
who have served this country? I'll start:

General Colin Powell. I don't agree with everything he has done, but he stepped up when called.

My father-in-law and his brothers, all of whom served in the armed forces. One earned the Bronze Star w/V and the PH during WWII.

5. same around here....
a lot of generations worked at a steel mill near here and were brought up here from mexico during ww2 and the early 50`s. back then citizenship was`t a problem. another industry hired many "illegals" that now have several generations of family living in the same area.

nafta gave the poor in mexico no choice but to come to america for work. i do`t blame them for trying to survive,i blame our trade policies ,the corruption in mexico, and americans that have exploited them for cheap labor.
