Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) vowed that he'll lead the U.S. Senate "until 2015 and beyond
"The Nevada Democrat, who is up for reelection in 2010, said he's actually looking forward to being considered a 'vulnerable' incumbent then."

Said Reid: "You know, to be honest with you, I hope I am. That way, going to spend lots of resources on me and leave states we're looking at. They won't have as many resources -- and we have a lot of targets."

1. Full of himself, isn't he? On the other hand I wonder which senators are
the ones propping him up? Maybe they need some challenging in future elections.

4. well, the vote to make him majority leader was 57-0, so I guess they're all propping him up
Plan on challenging them all? A majority of them?

6. Why not? I've been talking about a thorough house cleaning in Congress
for a while now. I'm fed up with the entrenched ivory tower mentality in the Senate.

9. Can we even SAVE the Democratic Party any more?
Or is it WORTH saving if this is the kind of leader we get stuck with?

5. right, because if you're from Nevada and one of your senators is majority leader
you'd much prefer to have a junior senator representing you.

Not.

12. Better a Junior Dem than a Junior Republican
Edited on Wed Jan-07-09 07:47 PM by depakid
Of course, there's always a chance that Reid steps down himself.

If not for incompetence, for medical reasons- he has a history of stroke and has probably been having multiple TIA's.

14. And better a Junior Republican with no influence and no power
than an active saboteur masquerading as a Democrat.

8. Not if you lose in the primary
or are bloodied enough in the primary to end up losing in the general.

ANYONE who goes up against Reid in the primary gets my full support, including financial.

Maybe we need a "Dump Harry PAC?"

11. Maybe Cindy Sheehan can move to Nevada
San Francisco was obviously too conservative for her, perhaps she will have better luck in Nevada.

13. As minority leader if he doesn't remember how the Dems got there.
I getting very tired of him and Pelosi pontificating 24/7.
