Cheney is much more competent and capable than I had imagined -- not that I ever thought he fell short in either category. Despite the difficulties of getting first- or even second-hand accounts of much that took place in the OVP, Gellman does a thorough job of spelling out (based on the first few chapters I've read) the depth of Cheney's involvement in most of the important policy decisions of the Bu**sh** maladministration, including some where his involvement passed largely unnoticed by the public.

Regular readers of the WaPo will find little new, apparently, but it is worth reading the whole litany of crimes in narrative context.

Yes, chilling. It made me wonder if the infamous joint interview for the 9/11 Commission was for his protection, not Dumbya's. I hadn't heard that Bush did almost all of the talking during that interview.
