I don't think any more WH staff will be jettisoned
I think they are going to dig in their heels and FORCE a Constitutional showdown.
They will FORCE Congress to investigate Gonzo because that will utilize resources that won't be investigating Bush and gives them plenty of airtime on the "hatewaves" to talk about partisanship,etc.

2. I think at this point they're running scared..
because they really don't know exactly what the Democrats have on them at this point. One false move, and they will incriminate themselves on any number of things. Schumer, Leahy, et al seem to be playing it very close to the vest.

3. Right--the current Limpballs talking point is that the Dems just
want to keep causing "chaos and distraction". Which, actually, if Chimpy would just quietly comply instead of staging a hugely suspicious resistance, there would BE no chaos and distraction, just a little bit of harmless testimony on Capitol Hill--but there's RW logic for ya...

Bush can't order an ex-employee not to testify.

He's got enough trouble with Harriett Miers out there . . . .
