Your Top Three Accomplishments of 2008
As we head into the New Year, it's good to look back and size up what was accomplished over the previous year.

Recently a friend and fellow DU-er asked me this question. I had to think about what those three things were. What was I proudest of accomplishing?

Here's my list and I hope others will give this some thought and post three top accomplishments, too.

  • Extensive reading and research in an area that has cleared up a lot of life's questions.

Now that I know about certain issues, I feel more certain of how to live my life.

  • On Febr. 8, 2009, I will have completed an entire year of working out at least twice a week at the gym. I work out with weights and do resistance training on the machines. I also do cardio on the bikes and stairstepper. Not only do I feel great, I have a solid base of muscle. The workouts have cleared up a couple minor medical problems I had.

Best of all, I enjoy my time at the gym and I look forward to going.

  • Teaching a graduate class. This is the first graduate class I've ever taught and the students were the best! It was such a refreshing experience to teach people who actually cared about the course content.

How about you?

Cher

3. Good Year For Me
1. Kicked shit dog the home wrecker to the curb for good.

2. Walking every lunch hour for 55 minutes and running 12 miles on the weekends.

4. I became the media. Check out www.eastcountymagazine.org.
Media in my area was censoring news about Blackwater, election reform, the incompetency of our elected officials in failing to protect us from wildfires, and much more. So I got a small grant and started my own online publication which has had a half million hits in just 3 months.

If you like what you see, please consider hitting the "donate" button; we are totally out of money and can't survive past January without funds, which is ironic given the huge success in terms of circulation and broad community acceptance, content, caliber of writers, every other measure -- but I get so fed up with progressive whining about the demise of progressive media and then not bothering to donate a penny to support an new progressive media outlet started by a former RawStory investigative reporter. Any help, however small, would be deeply appreciated!

5. Wonderful! I wish I had such accomplishments!
So far I have travelled to places I wanted to go, Northern Italy and Northern Spain.

Taking on a new ESOL student as a Literacy Volunteer.

Attending my grandchildren's birthdays, plays, recitals, important games, school presentations.

Since I am retired I can do these things. It was a lot more difficult to do them before retirement. So I wouldn't blame anyone for thinking I was a little bit "arrogant" altho I am not.
