Keith Olberman vs. MSNBC.....I dont get it.
Does Keith have some kind of deal with someone at MSNBC that excludes him from the rest of the talking points that the other "newscasters" spew on a daily basis? I have always thought that there must be some kind of disconnect at the channel. First they have "news" throughout the day, then they go to Tucker and Tweety before going to Keith for one hour of sanity before switching back to Scarborough...wtf?
I also wonder if anyone else at MSNBC watches Keith's show. One of the daily "news bimbos" just did an "interview" with the girl who was shown crying for the American Idol guy that cant sing and looks like Nacho Libre's partner, Sanajaya?. Didn't I see correctly that Keith exposed the girl as a plant? How can one newscaster expose a fraud and the next day, the rest of the channel bites hard on the fraud?
Am I a moron or is this a symptom of a disconnect? What kind of deal does Keith have with the heads at MSNBC?

2. well
she wasn't a "plant" in the regular sense of the word. She attended the dress rehearsal, the producers saw her and liked her, and thought she'd be good to have on the live show, so they invited her and her family to stay.

But she's not an actress or anything like that - she's a real fan.

5. I'm just using that as an example
because Keith clearly showed that everything there was not genuine, then the daily news person has an interview as though she were an important news figure. The subpoena's are on the front burner of the nation's mindset and she is having this phony fluff on instead???

7. she was put in a place where the cameras would *spot* her
and of course, the talentless hack found his way over to her? On his own? REALLY? :sarcasm:

from one of the definitions of *plant* -- "to covertly place for discovery, publication, or dissemination"

It FITS. The producers used this kid. She WAS a plant.

He gets the ratings, he gets to talk...
I think it is as simple as that. A lot of folks out there in TV land are starting to tire of being insulted by the Faux Noise talking heads spewing RW administration talking points.

He's just riding the wave, and I hope it continues.

8. Right, ratings. His program is the first TV news show I have watched
in years. I get most of my news from the internet. They may hate it but he is the best thing they have going for them.

4. Dan Abrams is running programming
last I heard and he's to the right of Atilla the Hun.

I think Keith thrives because he gets ratings. His show became more anti-Bush at the perfect moment, it's an honest show (why they want to kill it) and it keeps growing (why they can't kill it).
