Do you consider this a "push poll"
I understand the value of internet polls, but this thing on CNN bothers me. Its in how the question is phrased of course"

"Where do you stand on Israel's response to rocket attacks on its territory?"

Justified 61% 34222
Condemnable 39% 22023
Total Votes: 56245

www.cnn.com right hand side, about half way down the page.

They might have phrased the question something like "Where do you stand on Israel's attack on Gaza" and got what I would expect to be a much different result.

1. Fair question
They would not have to respond if the rocket attacks had not been going on for weeks now

3. Remember--
If the French will not shoot at the Germans, the Germans will not shoot at the French!

As written on a bilboard placed across from the Maginot line just before the German invasion of France.

5. Both sides are at fault
I agree Israel responds with too much force. It is hard not to when you are firing and storing munitions and rockets from civilian ares. But who attacked Isreal in the past 60 years? Did not Israel pull out of Gaza? Did not Israel just open the border again for aid? Does Egypt open the border? Both sides are at fault but I only hear one side around here.

10. Sure wasn't much (any?) MSM coverage
of Hamas lobbing grenades into groups of Christians approaching Bethlehem to observe Christmas there. Nor was there mention of Hamas enacting Sharia law to punish perceived enemies of Islam with crucifixion. And that's just THIS past week.

6. Haven't you heard?
One side attacks for NO REASON.
The other side attacks because it MUST.

Guess which 'side' this explanation comes from??
:eyes:

The slack-jawed idiocy of 90% of the crap spewed about this is disgusting.

11. Weeks? Try years
Just look it up... you can find stories about these rocket attacks almost from the day Israel evacuated the territory.

4. No, not really. Here's how I would have asked the question
I had 8 years in polling...

An accurate survey would do split sampling with different language.

For a quick, short question, it's not too bad.

12. I think of a push poll as beginning with "If you knew that...
...what would you think?" The way I understand it is that a push poll leads with information of some kind that the interviewee may not have known, and now that he/she knows, how would they respond.

The above in the OP sounds fair.
