Could someone please explain to me how the things that

people post, apparently as links, work? I'm talking about the rectangular ones with all the symbols and Google and Bookmark. They are colorful. I have no idea what they are or how they work, but apparently if you know how to use them, you can link to websites or articles. Please. I am not very computer savvy. Thanks.

If you want to share a webpage with DU ,
Copy (highlight > right mouseclick > COPY ) the URL from the address bar of that site.

To put the link ointo your DU post, (left mouseclick > PASTE)


If you want to post a picture from a website (right mouseclick the picture. >properties > highlight > copy.
Put the picture in your post, by rt mouseclick > paste.

3. People aren't posting them, DU does it

It's attaching that little toolbar to everyone's post. If you use Facebook for example, it will enable you to with one click send a link to that DU post to all of your Facebook friends, to share. The Google one will let you keep a bookmark for that thread in a Google app, don't know why anybody would use that though unless they are on a public computer and cannot save bookmarks directly.

The websites like Facebook etc the tool links to like it because it adds traffic. I think DU gets a small kickback from them for including the tool, not certain of that though.
