Another perfect beginning to a beautiful day
The pre-dawn trek to the very tip of Passe Grille beach. The Gulf lapping at the rock jetty behind. The perfect location to see the sun rise over the bay, while sitting and letting the snow flakes completely cover all but the head. Then off to the cafe for a hot breakfast of scrambled eggs back and grits with a little blueberry syrup.

Thank you DU, for another year of passion and teaching an 'ole folk like me.

Now if I could only get my tongue to stop sticking to my cheek.

1. "Now if I could only get my tongue to stop sticking to my cheek."
Try another cup of hot coffee. It unglues me from peanut butter.

Merry Christmas!

4. You see, it is just like the tree
falling in the forest with no one to hear the sound.

2. You found a beach you could still get to?
Wow, I'm impressed.

Three years ago after my dad died, I decided to dip my toe in the Atlantic for old time's sake. Cocoa Beach was only 20 minute drive away and off I went.

What I found was an unbroken wall of high rise condo developments. Even the old nature walk had been turned into commerce. There was no longer public access or parking to get to the beach.

I drove back cursing Jeb Bush and the developers he rode in on.

Cocoa Beach had been one of the real jewels of Florida, a huge expanse of bright white sand. The nature walk was a boardwalk through scrub palms where you could see all sorts of waterfowl, lizards, and other wonderful creatures.

Now it's just a bunch of disgusting yuppie hutches.

Fuck you, Jeb Bush.

3. At least we share sentiments on Jebbie.
You should come across to the Gulf and go to Caladasi Island. Hard and expensive to get to so it is still pristine.

5. I musta missed the snowflakes, cause it's hot here
Gonna be another typical West Central Florida Christmas, mid 70s and a slight chance of rain.

The sunset ought to be a good one too.

Peace

7. Being there alone, there is no one to say I did not get covered
with snowflakes.

The Hurricaine on Passe Grill beach is the near perfect place to watch the sunset. The upstairs deck with clams and beer, just about makes it perfect.

6. Same thing most of the Gulf beaches.
I do enjoy the watching the occasional game of hurricane tetris, tho.
The cheap condos get blown away, people flee the beach scene for about a year, the condos get re-built, resold, as amnesiacs with more money than sense flock back to the beaches,.

Tho the flocking back is much slowed this year.

8. Kind of a ritual isn't it.
Perhaps that is why they build them so flimsy. Kind of a planned obsolence type thing. Know they will blow away in 5 years max, why build them to last 6 years.
