Giving Back to Rick Warren
I can't go to the inauguration in D.C. If I could be in that throng, I would turn my back to Warren for the duration of his "prayer." In my mind's eye I see thousands of people within view of the podium, and those people have all turned away from him. Silent yet unmistakable scorn for his hateful preachments.

1. 4 years ago I protested Bush for killing Millions in Iraq
now I may have to go to DC to protest Obama (my god, I never thought it would come to this)

to protest the bigotry that leads to LGBT deaths in the form of continued worldwide bullying of the LGBT community and continuing lip service to what should be immediate and FULL civil rights now.

damn... protesting obama.. the last 8 months I knocked on doors for that man and now I have to protest him...

damn....

2. I plan on mooning the TV screen.

I doubt it would have the same impact (great idea, BTW), but I'll feel better.
Edit: The moon is for Warren, not Obama. Not yet, anyhow.

3. I like the idea
I hope that it catches on with everyone who cares about GLBT rights, women's rights, and Jewish rights (remember-Warren directs his hate at more than gays and lesbians). I'm still stunned that Obama's honeymoon period has been so short because of this. I still have photos of people celebrating around the world election night on my desktop, and now this. It's just surreal.

4. Join the Impact.com have organized huge protests
at saddleback church..I have no doubt there will be a huge protest on inauguration day..throwing donuts, turning their backs on warren, disrupting his speech..i certainly hope so. I hope they get so loud that no one can hear Warren. I hope they get so loud that Warren runs off the stage wailing like a baby.
I dont intend to watch it. I had hoped to, at one time, because I remember protesting in 2001 at the Bush inaugural. I remember the free speech zones we were in back then..sad, as I am wishing another protest at this one.
kind of sad I have to miss this one. but I wont honour a bigot.

6. politicians are not us -- not by a long shot -- EVEN IF they are the first
of a certain colour or sex or whatever.

protesting them is important.
whether they are dem or repuke.

hopefully we didn't elect barack for sentimental reasons.
