Jesse Jackson Jr...Government Informant?
My husband heard this on the news, but I can't find any mention of it except for this article. Anyone hear this?

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/12/16/AR2008121602846.html

Kenneth Edmonds, Jackson's Washington spokesman, said the congressman "has shared information with the U.S. attorney's office about public corruption in the state during the past several years." He added that Jackson was not acting as an informant in a particular case.

1. Not surprised in the least
Fitzgerald is not the only one who has been fighting corruption in Illinois politics. The beauty of Jackson Jr. beingon the side of reform and clean-up is that it destroys right wing and FReeper memes about Jackson family corruption and induces the following physical reaction:

2. Fitzgerald is GOOD. May be a winger, but he knows what he's doing.
And Jesse, Jr. basically helped rid us of yet another corrupt politician. We could use both of 'em up here for a while.

4. What did they have on JJJr.?
Politicians don't rat out other politicians to the Feds unless someone has them by the balls.

12. They have nailed JJJ to a cross. He is a Democrat. Narc is not a good quality in a Dem.

Fitz can burn in hell.

:nuke:

If they try to appoint him attorney general, I will be there in DC protesting, all by myself if necessary.

P.S. The implication anytime anyone is a gov't informant is that they turned, because the feds had something on them. This is how his political opponents will play this bit of Republican DOJ spilled information from now until the end of time.

13. Our local channel 5..
which is the ABC affiliate is what my husband was watching. I found it here again at Salon..but it doesn't say much. My husband heard it reported that he had been an informant since the late 90's..but he was first elected..or appointed to fill a vacant seat in 1995.
