The view from here - a TSS rant about these bailouts
I'm just the little guy out here trying to take care of his wife and daughter. My sphere of influence, and/or power if you wish, is very limited in it's scope in a direct manner.

Having been laid off of two jobs my credit is shot - bills, medical and otherwise, go unpaid as I try merely to keep food on the table, car insurance (else I cannot drive to even look for work), tags for the car, etc and so - those mandates I have to live up to not to mention monthly expenses for utilities and such.

I have no cash flow as of today (still working on the idiots in CA over unemployment....).

From what I have heard these bailouts are supposed to somehow help people like me - take our money and plow into companies that have mismanaged their funds and I will be able to find work and such. It's all to help me I am told. Help us and you will benefit.

If I have, and at times I surely have, mismanaged my funds and get into problems and then go to get a loan/bailout - I am told my credit is bad. I made mistakes and should not be trusted. You even have credit scores and such that punish me on insurance, getting jobs, and so on.

Never mind that helping me will help others - my wife might get better medical care and be able to have funds to hire someone and start that small business she wants, my daughter might get a better education and contribute more in the future, I might have less worry and stress and be more capable of being productive.

You want to hear none of that. You look at a score or a report and decide I am a risk because I have faced challenges in my life - which I might note were brought on largely because companies I have worked for have failed in their management and caused me to be without an income.

But hey, we got stock holders we need to appease - and to do so we will out source to other countries where work is cheaper. Which means us little folk will be without work and the funds to pay those loans for houses/cars/etc.

And yet - YOU are coming to US to beg for money.

Where are you friends in all those foreign countries now that you need them? You know, the ones you ship our jobs off to so you can make more money? Did ya make more? If so, then why are you in trouble?

Let's invest in other countries so that we can build them up and we will have more trade, it will create more jobs here and everyone will be better off.

Obviously I am not better off and neither are you.

The problem is not that you loaned to people who could not repay. You loaned to people then killed their jobs to save your company money, and now you wonder why so many have defaulted.

If I want a loan from you to better myself I go through a zillion hoops just to get denied. You want it and you go to congress and MY money gets handed to you with little oversight.

You got your bailout. And yet the jobless numbers keep going up.

From airlines to banks to auto industry you have screwed over the very people you have relied on and then wondered why all this is going on.

Next time, try investing in the very people you are asking for help from now, and maybe you won't get into the situation you are in.
