News blow it first they said only 4000 then in the report he said several 1000's. They had me boy am I ugly on TV. It was peaceful no Arrest but some held till march was over. We Did It tonight I feel like a time warp back to the 60s it was great to see our VVAW banner flying again. The Freeper they had talking was a brain dead if you know what I mean. I hope these picture turn out to show you how Chicago does it up. Newsprint should carry the pictures every TV STATION HAS US ON. Well need a drink see ya this was great to be back.

14. My first Chicago rally was a free Jefferson Airplane

concert - I was a junior in HS and my kid sister, her "greaser" boyfriend Sean
and I clambered on the Rock Island and headed into town.

We had no idea where the free concert would be - we just followed the crowd. What a great time we had!

I missed on the 1968 Demonstrations as my very strict parents did not let me out of the house that week.

But attended many other rallies and anti war demos throughout those days. (all of them peaceful)

Har d to believe we still are doing this stuff.

15. I was there last night!

Cops on horses, segways, boats, atvs, helicopters, bikes, riot gear, police stationed every ten feet along the route - holy shit what the fuck did they think we were going to do? Especially the boats on the water as we went over the bridge - like we were going to do what exactly??? 4 buses lined up for arrested protesters - we laughed out loud when we saw that one.

Wish I'd known you needed a ride, I had space in my car for one more person and I know you are from the western suburbs.
