Ex Cheney Aide Confirms the "Friday News Dump"

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/01/25/AR2007012501951.html

<snip>

And bad news is dumped before the weekend for the sole purpose of burying it.

With a candor that is frowned upon at the White House, Martin explained the use of late-Friday statements. "Fewer people pay attention to it late on Friday," she said. "Fewer people pay attention when it's reported on Saturday."

1. That's been done for decades. There was even a "West Wing" episode called
"Take Out the Trash Day."

2. Was it in relation to Senator Clinton's announcement?
They will do anything to disparage her candidacy.

3. And in a related story: Tin foil stocks plummet.
We was right! We was right!
It wasn't that
our tin foil
was too tight!

:tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat: So now the WH is all sunshine in the operations behind the scene? :tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat:

Would the Bushies really sack Cheney for a successor hand-picked by Rove? I have no doubt that Cheney would gladly fall on his sword and take the fall for Bush. For Cheney, it's all about "protecting the President", not the man but the office.

But for Rove, it's all about maintaining a permanent Republican political control. As it stands right now, they still have that by sandwiching the Democrats.

Two seemingly different agendas, same result as long as there's an (R) in the Oval Office.
