The "job" of the Media during a Dem Administration is "Concern Troll".
It dawned on me this morning as I heard one more bobblehead opine "All these people from Chicago and the Clintons - Well.. There goes your "change" in a chirpy brainless sort of flip voice.

Then the next guy up started picking at the remaining scabs from the primaries while talking about the vetting of Bill in regards to Hillary's bid for SoS..

It is just one "concern troll" story after another. I don't know why I didn't recognize the tone before. It is the same note, over and over again.

1. More like attack dogs
They will be on the offensive until they have managed to diminish a Democratic lead government to the point where they will not be able to stay in power.

This is what the reich wing media is assigned to do for the next 4 years or more.

4. The problem here for the main stream media is there is a whole bunch of folks
who could give a rats ass what the media has to say...

And there are many other outlets to get information.

Remember, just as many people turn to Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert as turn into Wolf or O'Reilly.

And the net. Obama's weekly You Tube address will be seen by more people every week than ever caught the combined weekly radio address Bush and Clinton.

IT's a brave new world we live in and if Obama keeps his promise about keeping the net as free and open as can be, the Main Stream will turn into a creek of cranky old coots who no one will heed...

5. As If They Were Ever Our Friends?
The corporate media has and always will be as much a deterant to a progressive message than the GOOP. Just because there was an election doesn't change this game. Right now the status quo inside the beltway bubble is changing. There's new asses to kiss, new sources to cultivate...a lot of work the media is loathe to do. If anything, they want to show Obama who is boss. It's not gonna be his agenda that is important, it's theirs...and they're sending the message that this is how the game is played. Hopefully Obama continues to avoid playing their games, but it sure won't stop the media circle jerking.

When I turn on the teevee I feel like I'm walking into a high school cafateria. Lots of gossip, lots of second guessing and very little real substance.

7. Change? Well its definitely different than what McCain would be doing right now
He would not be appointing Clinton people. They just have nothing left to talk about so now it's time for going over every Obama decision with a fine tooth comb.

8. Interesting... what's their role during a GOP admin? Diversion? Shill?
Maybe in message-board terms, they're like a person who logs in a bunch of different accounts and agrees with himself. "Great idea!" "You're awesome!"
