Anyone who makes the unions scapegoats for management malfeasance is my enemy.

1. Me too, on both counts.
But that union job just barely kept the wolf from our door for the first 5 years and I worked my ass off night and day. Some people think you can just coast if you get a union job but I've never seen one like that.

2. They're blaming unions, but out of all the
well paid union workers with decent health insurance and a pension plan most are still middle class. Not the wealthy as union busters would have people believe.

3. My stepdad raised a family of five on a union salary.
And I agree with you completely.

4. My single mom raised a family of four on union wages...
...so anyone screeching about union wages being to blame for the Big Three's downfall can eat a hot STFU sandwich.

5. Why do you hate America?
Heck even Rush was saying today that retiring at 55 was UnAmerican and selfish. Same with full health benefits. If you selfish union workers had your way we'd all have a living wage since union benefits have been the only bennies that've trickled down to us unwitting scabs.

Do I need to add :sarcasm:?

6. Off to the greatest. They are using this as an excuse for union busting when it was
mismanagement and golden parachutes that helped to kill the auto industry. Being in cahoots with the oil industry didn't help either. They should be the ones to bail out the auto companies since it was the big gas guzzlers that helped to make them the companies they are today...like overstuffed pigs.

7. Me too!...I was making a great wage working with the UAW at a Chevy plant..
$3.60 an hour. That was pretty good money in 1968. :smoke:

8. A union paid for my health benefits and paid for my rent when an employer tried to crush me.
It's not the union's fault.

9. Helped me pay for college and grad school
and helped my colleagues keep a roof over their kids' heads and food on the table too.

and that good wage meant people stayed, people cared and people were damned good at what they did, which is good since it was a hospital.

11. I'm with you
I come from a union family. My Grandfather held the line during the great depression and my father was a Teamster for 40 years. People out there talking shit about unions are just buying into the right wing horseshit that we've been fed for the last 28 years.

12. I'm with you
And furthermore...non-union workers benefit, too. When union workers get a better deal, the rest of the employees get the same deal.

The position I'm in nowis non-union and pretty good, but any time I've had the option to join a union, I've done it.
