Pffft!

If that contraption catches on, not only are we fat and lazy, but also STUPID.

Edited on Mon Nov-17-08 12:29 AM by Trajan
> The energy generated by belt movement can be stepped up or down, by implementing a geared transmission system ...

> An electrical motor/charger system could be added, like a hybrid system, that can kick in when extra power is required, and recharge on downhill or flat sections ...

Combine both of those elements, and you might stop laughing ....

18. That's the new-fangled "green" treadmill. No electricity required, except the five gigawatts
to smelt the aluminum, melt the rubber for the tires, and charge the batteries for the cattle prods to keep the child laborers at their workstations. Dog bless Amerka.

I wonder if that fucker goes in reverse?

I agree that contraption is silly, but is the fat bashing necessary? Fat doesn't equal lazy or stupid, OK?

23. It looks really silly, but if it has any kind of gearing system it could be
faster than walking. Possibly lower impact than jogging. And perhaps with more cargo capacity than a bike. All in all, it still looks like a faddish contraption that will make the user look like a complete dork, but I think it has minor possibilities...

35. Maybe it will get people to stop using their gas guzzlers as much and to exercise more.
It looked like those people were getting a good workout. My only objection is that it might cost so much that it's a waste of money.
