For my 20,000th post, I want to tell you all

how much I love this website and its members. I've been here since 2001 and have seen many come and go. We have gone through much together--political and personal. DU is the best. A think tank on a full range of political, social, internationa,l and economic topics with a lounge, a kitchen, a horticultural center, support groups, and a petting zoo for trolls in certain seasons.

Seriously, I've learned much here and appreciate the willingness with which DUers jump to share their expertise with others. Good conversation, good recipes, good tips on frugal living, helping hands when someone is in distress, and lots of warm, caring vibes to go around.

When my ISP goes down for service or our rural electric coop bites the dust or DU is down, I get the jitters till I join you all again. Thanks for many wonderful years of sanity, teaching, and listening. AND thanks for helping make this election the smashing success it has been.

I love and appreciate you all and look forward to sharing the Obama years with this wonderful community.

Nothing like it on the web. Glad you were here when I started and that you still post here. Your presence here and others like you from the beginning help to give the community depth and history. I know that posting here and reading/learning from other DUers has kept me sane - some days just barely. I am also grateful for it's existence!

11. i have to say the same

in the middle of chaos at home this minute as i write, and if it wasn't for this website who the fuck knows. i haven't been here as long as you but DU is the first place i go and i am here all the time being reassured that it isn't me that's crazy, it's the world.

hopefully the world gets more sane going forward. i'm hopeful.
