Woke up and it was winter this morning, but at least the Gods of parking smiled.
We got 4-6 inches of wet, super-heavy snow last night and a large tree which is in our apartment building's parking area lost several huge limbs that amazingly enough fell just to the left and right of our vehicle. Another foot either way and I'd be out car shopping right now. Anyone else in the North East have any bad weather stories last night?

Obviously a big shout out of thanks to the God and Goddess for sparing our humble chariot last night. B-) So mote it be.

1. Today is a good day! I love the freshness of the air that Fall and Winter bring.
My lungs have a hard time with dry, super-cold air, but I love it anyway. I'm glad your vehicle was spared!

I'm in the Glens Falls region and though heavy snow was predicted there's not a flake on the ground this morning.

4. My youngest son is going to school in the northern reaches of NYS and called me early
Edited on Wed Oct-29-08 08:45 AM by OmmmSweetOmmm
last night to tell me that it started snowing! It was so neat that he thought of me. :)

I'll call him later, when his classes are over to see what it's like there today. :)

Meanwhile, 50 miles north of NYC there are lots of leaves down in the aftermath of lots of rain then wind. It's still gray outside but beautiful with the bright fall foliage.

5. Anyone know anything about renters rights?
Because I have a broken tree in our parking area and what's left of it is unstable. Is it the owner's obligation to secure it? In two days I can't legally park on the street and the rest of it will come down with a little more weight or wind on it.

6. Mother of a storm
In NW Jersey. Heavy rain and then HEAVY wet snow. Windswept snow. Traffic nighmare as trees came down everywhere due to the fact they still had their leaves. I can't remember snow falling this early. What a mess.
