STOP VOTE FLIPPING IN WEST VIRGINIA!!!!
Join us in taking action. Send this to your email lists and post on message boards.

MSNBC has a video about it: WVA votes switched before the Voters eyes

Oct. 22: Some West Virginians voting on electronic machines are seeing their Democratic choices turn into Republican votes. WSAZ's Will Jones discusses with MSNBC's David Shuster.

This year is different - we aren't going to sit on our hands while votes get taken away from voters.

We are taking the action below and encourage other organizations to join the effort. You can use the letter below as a model, copy it, edit it - however you want to use it.

Click on this link for the action alert

Here is what the letter you send will look like:

Stop vote flipping in West Virginia

Do not be surprised if after you send this email you receive replies from elected officials - that just means they got your email.
Salsa HQ

I am writing because of the numerous reports from voters about vote-flips, as well as other errors, made by iVotronic voting machines.

This is reminiscent of the experience of Sarasota, FL in 2006. When the vote was complete and counted, they discovered that vote-flips were the tip of the iceberg. The iVotronic machines - the same product being used in West Virginia - had 18,000 blank ballots which could have changed the outcome of the election. Election officials were unable to reconstruct the race. For more information, see “Vote Flipping with the iVotronic the Florida 2006 Experience” at http://truevote.us/nucleus/index.php?itemid=363. This report includes comment by an election integrity advocate in Sarasota, as well as links to reports from the U.S. GAO.

I demand that West Virginia remove any machine that flips votes or resists voter's choices. Such machines must be immediately removed. Voters should not be forced to vote on a machine that makes intermittent or continuous misalignments. These problems can be a sign of fraudulent software or hardware that is not likely to be corrected by recalibration of the machine.

West Virginia should be preparing for a paper ballot election with hand counts. At this late stage of the game, that is the only alternative that seems possible.

Sincerely,

7. DONE - My letter
I am writing because of the numerous reports from voters about vote-flips, as well as other errors, made by iVotronic voting machines.

HERE IS WHERE I DEPART FROM THE STANDARD LETTER.

LOOK, common sense says if this is America our votes should count and if the machines being used don't work, they should be replaced and there should be NO ARGUMENT.

DEMOCRACY DEMANDS TRANSPARENCY AND MACHINES THAT FLIP VOTES ARE JUST BLACK BOXES STEALING YOUR VOTE.

DUMP THEM NOW and give West Virginia the chance to have a truly Democratic election.

West Virginia should be preparing for a paper ballot election with hand counts. At this late stage of the game, that is the only alternative that seems possible.

Sincerely,

11. The machines need to be confiscated and their software gone over with a fine toothed comb
If the software in those machines has been purposfully altered to make some machines flip and if that software is different in machines that do not flip then the person(s) who loaded to altered software should be identified and imprisoned.
