5. Somehow I feel he shouldn't have selected a plumber.
Most of us feel the plumber is a deeply superior and well-paid being.

Not to mention, JOE IS A UNION MAN.

2. Truely, Sir, The Whole Nation Must Be Devoted To The Task
Of seeing he does not pay an extra three cents tax on every dollar above one quarter million dollars he earns.

No greater priority for our great nation occurs to my mind!

10. Why? In the hope that he can buy a plumbing company and have more than $250,000 taxable income,
he wants to be sure that he doesn't have to pay any additional taxes on the amount over $250,000?

What about the tens of millions of people today who have health issues and have no access to health care? What about the tens of millions of people (if not hundreds) who are watching their self-funded retirement savings decrease in value?

Hmmm. The times when I paid the highest percentage in taxes was when I had to most money left after paying taxes.

Anyway, the GOP mantra in good times is to "cut taxes", in bad times the mantra is to "cut taxes", and they usually focus on the taxes paid by their high income supporters and corporations.

We can all see how that has worked:
1. Unprecedented annual deficit and increase in total national debt.
2. Crumbling of infrastruture (bridges, roads, schools, universities, etc.)
3. Removal of regulations and legislation that protect Americans(drug safety, food safety, pollution, utility pricing, financial regulations, legal protections, etc.)
4. Destruction of our standing in foreign policy in the world with yet unimagined consequences.

Somehow, I think that "Joe, the plumber" was a McCain plant.

21. I'm going to introduce him to Bill the Accountant...
who will explain to him the difference between revenues and earnings, so he can figure out if he'll ever make $250,000 - that is, if he can secure a loan in the first place for his still theoretical purchase of a business he does not yet own.

22. I don't give a flying fuck about Joe the plumber. He's just another greedy bastard!
He is worried about a measly 3% tax raise increase of what he makes OVER 250K! FUCK HIM and his greedy bullshit! :grr:

24. It's funny, given the low odds he's ever going to make 250 K...
since in the conversation with Obama about a business he'd like to buy no clear distinction was made between revenues and earnings. So he's not just greedy but also rather on the wishful side.

That could serve to land him in the dreaded 39% bracket!
