what ever happened to Iraq?
How is it that people are so easily distracted?

I know they are distracted for good reason like the elections and this scam of a bailout.

What concerns me is these new issues that all the focus is on, cause everything to drop out of sight, like they don't exist at all.

What a sorry situation this country has become.

Who even knows what is going on in the background during all of this or when I will suddenly leap out and bite us , then what?

Or is it now sink of swim for most people because now they were hit?

1. I feel like I'm in a hovering state..
suspended in time, waiting for next. It is very weird to be so narrowly focused on a single event, but it has for the first time in a very long time made me feel a part of something good that is happening with the people in this country. The world is standing still for me. I'm sure it will be there when I get back to it.

2. SilentGen McCain blew it with Iraq
Silent Generation member McCain is running an old-school style campign which just can't keep up with Obama, and the disappearance of Iraq as a major election story reflects this. The generational componenets are often overlooked in politics. Relevantly, as numerous experts and media outlets have pointe out, Obama is a member of Generation Jones--born 1954-1965, between the Boomers and GenXers.

Here is a new 5 minute video on this topic which is well worth watching. It features many top national pundits (including David Brooks, Clarence Page, Dick Morris, Juan Williams, Karen Tumulty, Howard Wolfson, Michael Barone among many others) specifically talking about Obama's membership in Generation Jones, as well as the surprisingly big role that GenJones is now playing in this election: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ta_Du5K0jk
